| | CHANGES TO THE CISM® EXAM CONTENT OUTLINE |
| ISACA is updating the CISM® Exam Content Outline with effect from 3 November 2026. From that date, the CISM exam will be based on the new exam content. |
| The changes reflect the updated responsibilities of information security managers. In future, there will be a greater focus on information security strategy and programme development. The topics of enterprise architecture and information security architecture have also been added.
If you are planning to sit the CISM exam on or after 3 November 2026, ISACA recommends using the updated preparation materials. These are expected to be available from September 2026. Please note: Purchasing current materials does not entitle you to access the new materials at a later date.
If you wish to sit the CISM exam based on the currently valid content, you should purchase the current preparation materials in good time: the study guide and database will only be available until 31 August 2026. The exam using the currently valid materials can still be taken until 2 November 2026.
We have also taken these changes into account in our exam preparation courses. Details of the preparation materials used can be found on the respective course website.

Survey on the development of a potential Master’s programme in cybersecurity
We would like to draw your attention to an academic research initiative by Tahira Javed, a Master’s student on the Technology & Innovation Management programme at Harz University of Applied Sciences in Saxony-Anhalt.
As part of her Master’s thesis, Tahira is investigating the need for a potential new Master’s programme in the field of cybersecurity in Central Germany. The study focuses on the question of which cybersecurity skills are currently in particularly high demand in Germany and internationally. As many of you have expertise in IT security, IT audit, governance, risk management and cybersecurity, your input is particularly valuable for this study.
The survey is aimed at professionals in cybersecurity, IT security, IT audit, GRC, security analysis and related fields. It takes approximately 7-8 minutes to complete; the survey is in English and responses will be analysed anonymously.
A summary of the results will be made available to the ISACA Germany Chapter and its members.

The Innovation & Tech Talk expert group invites all ISACA members and other interested parties to a Tech Talk on 18 June 2026 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on the following topic: Master Your Agents: Overcoming Data Risks that Hinder AI.
In this presentation, Eduard Decker will explain why the launch of initial AI pilots is usually just the beginning, and why the real challenge lies in the secure scaling of AI applications. He will outline the measures required for data transparency and data control to drive the adoption of AI without creating new security, data protection or compliance risks.

| ECSO CISO Meetup Berlin 2026
The ECSO CISO Meetup 2026 will take place in Berlin on 1 and 2 October 2026. This English-language partner event is one of the largest CISO gatherings in Europe and brings together CISOs, Deputy CISOs and other cybersecurity executives from CISO teams across Europe and various industries.
The aim of the event is to promote the exchange of information, best practices and threat intelligence, as well as to develop common positions within the European cybersecurity community.
Participation is intended for CISOs and CISO offices; registration does not automatically confirm participation. A separate confirmation will be sent once eligibility has been verified.
