| with more than 400 attendees, over 90 submitted presentation proposals and, for the first time, four parallel tracks, the IT-GRC Congress 2026 set new benchmarks in several respects on 29 and 30 June at the Estrel Berlin. The focus was on current developments in IT governance, information security, IT audit, risk management, compliance, cybersecurity, regulation and artificial intelligence. The programme impressively demonstrated how closely these topics are interlinked today and how rapidly our profession is evolving. Alongside specialist presentations, keynote speeches and panel discussions, this year’s congress once again offered numerous opportunities for personal exchange and networking.
A key item on the agenda was the Annual General Meeting held on the evening of the first day of the conference. Board elections took place during the AGM: the members elected Markus Gaulke as the new President of the ISACA Germany Chapter. Furthermore, Sarah Richter and Corinna Kulp were newly elected to the Board. The Board thanked the outgoing Board members for their commitment and, together with the members, looked ahead to the future development of the Chapter.
We would like to thank the programme committee, the practice groups, the secretariat, all members of the Chapter Board, dpunkt.verlag, the volunteers, the exhibitors and sponsors, and all participants who once again made the IT-GRC Congress 2026 such a special event. |
| And as we all know, once one conference is over, it’s already time to look ahead to the next one: the next IT-GRC Conference will take place on 22 and 23 June 2027 at the Rosengarten in Mannheim. We are already looking forward to seeing you again. |

| | CHANGE TO THE MEMBERSHIP MODEL FOR NEW MEMBERS |
| As part of the upcoming launch of the new e-commerce platform on 20 July 2026, ISACA is switching to a so-called anniversary-based membership model for new members. This means that new members who join after the launch will in future renew their membership based on their individual joining date, rather than the traditional calendar-year model.
Important: This change applies exclusively to new members who join after 20 July 2026.
For existing members, the current membership term and the existing renewal period remain unchanged. The processes for maintaining certifications also remain unchanged. The reporting of CPE hours, prerequisites and other requirements for maintaining certification continue to apply as before – for both new and existing certification holders.

| | NEW AI MODULE IN THE IT COMPLIANCE MANAGER (available to book separately for FS alumni) |
| The IT Compliance Manager course enables participants to translate regulatory and legal requirements into robust governance structures, processes, controls and evidence. Since this autumn, there has been a particular focus on expanding traditional IT compliance to include the latest requirements relating to AI and outsourcing compliance. Against this backdrop, we have integrated a new module on the specific aspects of AI compliance into the course. The module focuses in particular on the specific requirements of the EU AI Act for providers and operators of AI systems. Furthermore, the module covers the legally compliant use of outsourcing through the clear drafting of software and IT service contracts.
Further information and details on how to register can be found on the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management website.

| | New Position Paper: Cloud Exit
Cloud computing has long been an integral part of the IT strategy in many organisations. At the same time, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions create dependencies on individual providers – for example, through proprietary data formats, closed interfaces or platform-specific services.
The new position paper ‘Cloud Exit’ from the Cloud Computing Practice Group explains why a well-prepared cloud exit strategy is important and how organisations can prepare for a planned and controlled exit from an existing cloud infrastructure. Among other things, it addresses potential triggers, key challenges, relevant steps, and legal and contractual issues.
The position paper thus offers valuable guidance for anyone wishing to identify cloud dependencies at an early stage, reduce risks and ensure their ability to act.
