Dear All,
We have some exciting days behind us. On 26 and 27 May, the tenth IT GRC Congress of the ISACA Germany Chapter took place in the historic Gürzenich in Cologne. Over 300 participants came together to discuss current developments and challenges in IT governance, compliance, cyber security and resilience. Dr Tim Sattler opened the congress in an impressive setting - where concerts and carnival are usually celebrated. The focus was on topics such as artificial intelligence from a regulatory perspective (including the EU AI Act, auditing and the trustworthiness of AI systems), new requirements due to NIS2 and approaches to automating compliance processes. Cybersecurity topics such as securing the European Football Championship 2024, digital identities and data-centric security were also discussed in depth.
Two special highlights: In the opening keynote, Mark Thomas presented the new Digital Trust Ecosystem Framework - an important extension of COBIT relating to trust, data protection and integrity in the digital world. In his inspiring keynote, Julius van de Laar looked beyond the horizon and spoke about narratives in the digital age.
On the evening of the first day of the conference, the ISACA Germany Chapter held its general meeting and board elections. The board members all stood for re-election and were all re-elected.
Another highlight was the get-together on Monday evening in the atmospheric Wolkenburg. With a BBQ buffet and a relaxed atmosphere, close-up magician and world champion André Desery provided fascinating entertainment and the ideal setting for personal dialogue and relaxed networking.

| The congress programme impressed with its diversity and creative formats: Three parallel tracks, specialist group sessions, dialogue formats, debates - there was even room for a staged drama. Successful proof that professionalism and innovation are not mutually exclusive. Many thanks to all the speakers, the dedicated programme committee and dpunkt.verlag for organising the event. The next IT GRC Congress will take place on 29 and 30 June 2026 in Berlin - we are already looking forward to it!
