Subject: ISACA Germany: Survey, IT GRC Congress Report, Events, Seminars

Dear All,

Today we are turning to you with a special request. A Master's student at Witten/Herdecke University has contacted our professional association and asked us for support with his Master's thesis. As part of his research work, he is conducting a survey, the results of which are of great importance for his scientific success.

The title of his master's thesis is "How to measure cybersecurity: Development of a holistic assessment scale to measure the cybersecurity maturity of companies" and is essentially concerned with developing a questionnaire that allows the cybersecurity of a company to be measured in a practicable way. The measurement result should provide a good overview of all affected areas of the company and serve as a comprehensible basis for management decisions. As this is the development of a completely new measurement scale, the main contribution of the master's thesis will be to statistically prove the meaningfulness of the questions asked and the associated feedback. It is therefore possible that different questions may be very similar in this phase of his research. The aim of the survey is to present a significantly shortened and scientifically validated questionnaire based on the data collected.

The survey is in German and is anonymous. Please answer the questions as intuitively as possible. Unfortunately, there may be distortions in the display on mobile devices, so we would recommend conducting the survey on a desktop.

All information collected will be treated as strictly confidential. The data will be used exclusively for scientific purposes and will be analysed in anonymised form at Witten/Herdecke University. The results are processed in aggregated form and do not allow any individual conclusions to be drawn about companies or persons.
IT-GRC-KONGRESS 2024 - Review
The IT GRC Congress 2024, organised by the ISACA Germany Chapter and dpunkt.verlag, took place in early June at the Empire Riverside Hotel with a view of Hamburg's harbour. Over 300 participants and speakers took the opportunity for professional dialogue and networking.

Dr Tim Sattler, President of the ISACA Germany Chapter, opened the congress in his home city. Dr Tina Kluewer, Head of Department at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, gave the first keynote speech on the topic of "Does AI have a consciousness?". A prominent panel delved deeper into the topic of "AI - opportunities and risks for companies".
Another key topic was the EU DORA regulation, which comes into force in January 2025. Participants were able to discuss the content, practical implementation and uncertainties. The programme offered a wide range of topics such as cloud computing, money laundering prevention, IAM, NIS-2, risk and security.

The general meeting of the ISACA Germany Chapter took place on the evening of the first day of the conference. A tour of the harbour on a paddle steamer rounded off the day.

On the second day, St Pauli legend Holger Stanislawski spoke about his life and inspired with authentic contributions. A new format, the "Forum Specialist Groups", offered insights into the work of the ISACA specialist groups.

At the end of the second day of the conference, Dr Tim Sattler and Dr Michael Barabas bid farewell to the participants and made an announcement: The next congress will take place on 26/27 May 2025 in Cologne.

Many thanks to all participants, organisers, dpunkt.verlag and the sponsors!
